AMI Guide

An AMI Montessori Guide is responsible for the development of each of the children in the environment, planning, preparing material, introducing presentations and ensuring the conscious learning of all individually and according to their pace and needs.

In addition, it works collaboratively with families, monitors the evolution, understanding the child in its entire context from the academic, emotional, social and spiritual areas.

Assistant AMI

The intention of this type of training is to help adults become Assistants with the necessary skills according to Montessori education at each stage of the child’s development.

The Assistant’s task is not to give the initial presentations of the materials, but to maintain balance within each environment, support concentration, practice and learning at the pace of each child, enrich their language and experiences with respect to their environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the middle school team, including teachers and support staff.
  • Develop and oversee the middle school curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with educational best practices.
  • Ensure the Montessori approach is consistently implemented across all subjects and activities.
  • Ensure alignment between the Common Core standards and the Montessori curriculum.
  • Organize and facilitate enrichment activities, field trips, and special events.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, behavior, and goals through organising workshops, meetings and events.
  • Provide support to students by directing them to appropriate services, such as counseling, tutoring, and after-school programs to develop their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess and support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Establish strong, collaborative, and trusting relationships with the administrative team, school personnel, staff, and community.
  • Support students in their transition from middle school to high school, ensuring a smooth and successful progression.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education.
  • Preferably trained in the International Baccalaureate.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of the Montessori education system.
  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Are you passionate about healthy, nutritious food and working with children? Valencia
Montessori School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team. Our school
philosophy focuses on providing a holistic education inspired by the Association Montessori
Internationale (AMI) principles. We are also proud to be part of the Slow Food movement,
working closely with local farmers to ensure that only the highest quality ingredients are used in
every meal.

As we prepare for our exciting relocation to Tavernes Blanques in July 2025, we are looking for
a Cook who is eager to join us on this new journey and help us create an inspiring, nourishing
environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals daily for students and staff, offering a
    variety of options that cater to different dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety
    regulations and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Help to integrate food-related educational activities into the curriculum, promoting
    healthy eating habits among students.
  • Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of
    ingredients.
  • Accommodate special dietary requests and allergies, ensuring clear communication with
    parents and staff.
  • Collaborate in creating menus, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients wherever possible.

Requirements

  • Excellent cooking skills.
  • Experience of running a school kitchen and meeting the education food standards.
  • Experience of managing a catering budget including ordering and stock control.
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Passion for promoting healthy eating and sustainable food choices, as well as
    education and children.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and
    responsibilities and your own position within these.
