Parent & Infant
SUPPORTIVE MINDFUL OBSERVATION AND INTERACTION

“Scientific observation then has established that education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment”. MARÍA MONTESSORI
The Parent & Infant program is designed for a group of infants and parents to come together to allow the infant to explore a prepared environment designed specifically to meet the developmental needs of the infant child, while parents practice supportive mindful observation and interaction.
The Montessori guide engages parents in conversations related to different developmental topics, led by the needs of each child and family; helps to form collaborative relationships with the guide and among other parents; and presents families with information related to bringing Montessori ideas to the home.
Topics of interest include feeding and weaning, self-care and toileting, independence and limits, sleeping issues, cognitive and social development, language and movement development. The safe and supportive community allows parents to share challenges and insights, celebrations, and frustrations.
Who is it designed for?
Parent & Infant program targets families with newborn infants up to 18 months focused in observation and how to follow your child since the first year of his/her life. It is also a program for families who are in the gestation period, so they can learn about a natural education based on the Montessori pedagogy.
